hello everyone! just wanted to share my QT reading for today :) taken from Andrew Murray's book, 365 Daily Devotions on Prayer.

"For as many of you as have been baptised into Christ have put on Christ." (Galatians 3:27, KJV)
The word that is here translated "put on" is the same that is used in regard to putting on clothes. We have put on "the new man", and we have the new nature as a garment that is worn so all can see who we are. The Christian is known as one who has put on Christ and exhibits Him in his whole life and character.
Paul says to "put on the Lord Jesus", not only at conversion, but from day to day. As you put on your clothes each day, so the Christian must daily put on the Lord Jesus. In that way, you reflect the image of Jesus, the new person formed in His likeness.
Put on Christ! This must be done by spending time alone in His presence. As my clothes protect me from wind and sun, even so Christ will be my protection and my joy. As I fellowship with Him in prayer, He strengthens me.
Take time to meditate on this wonderful truth. As your clothing is a necessity, let it be equally indispensable for you to "put on" Jesus Christ, to spend time with Him, and to walk with Him all the day. Take the time and the trouble to do this. Your reward will be great.

Ignite' 08

This post is for all those who went for Ignite' 08:

As I have shared with you all on Sunday before prayer, I said I was going to back all who are going to start a new generation group in their schools and reach Jesus to the loss. I hope what I am about to share with you may encourage you to also keep that fire going.

It's very early now and I need to type in what the Holy Spirit has installed in me. I have been woken up by Him, and I find myself afreshed. The first and only thought in my mind is about new generation and reaching out to my schoolmates in Ngee Ann. Though I only have 5 weeks of school left, there is one particular class that I can reach out to. That is my WISP class. Since this class is about current issues, I'm going to use this as a base for telling them the current issue of Jesus who saved them and still loves them. And i'm going to step out in faith for the Holy Spirit to give me the inspiration to write personal words to them. The song ringing in my head is the bridge of a new song we sang in Ignite'08. The words are, " Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy. "

Please if you have any inspiration for me in terms of a creative way to distribute the message mention aboved to my WISP class, please let me know.

Remember Guys, the word is : OTHERS!

Chipmunk Movie & Maxwell Hawker Centre Outing

Sorry I haven't posted anything new and interesting for quite a while. Problem is my mom now uses the laptop for work, it's kinda spoilt and I've started work hence I haven't had much time to do much on the internet. (I more than welcome anyone else to post on the blog =) Thanks Jess and Tian Yi!)

Anyway, here's a little recap of some of the stuff we did of recent like the movie outing to Vivo to catch Alvin and the Chipmunks, after that we had lunch at Seah Imm. (As you can see I forgot to take photos so please bring your cameras next time and snap away and later post them here so we can share to fond memories. *Sniff sniff*)

Then sometime in Jan we went to Maxwell Market to celebrate my birthday and loads of sumptuous food! (It was just a lame excuse to eat somewhere different from "Hwa Nam" or Vivo =p) After the meal, some of us felt a little sleepy....

Of course most recently there was the Ignite Conference =). Thought it was really good and inspiring (very unfortunately no one had a camera!!!). Shall touch on that another time and I hope to hear wonderful testimonies from those of you who went. Cheers!

Hope the 1st day of school went well for all of you out there. If it wasn't that great perhaps the video below may cheer you up a little (love the rapping bit especially =p). It's the dance that the "graduating class" performed during last year's Youth Thanksgiving service. Like the song they chose which spurs us to testify God's love - be it amongst our school friends, workplace, family, etc.

And here's also the Thanksgiving video which was screened. It's a compilation of some of the exciting things we did in 2007 plus some of the stuff you guys shared during the last day of the Youth Camp. I must say that despite the many grueling hours (Thanks Darf and Jana for helping so much!) I was really encouraged by the things I saw and heard whilst making the video.

It's was extremely heart-warming hearing and seeing the Youth get along with the BB Boys, youths enjoying each other's fellowship despite their different ages groups, youths getting all excited and jumping because of Jesus, young people share about God's amazing transformation power... awesome stuff that came about because of an AWESOME God. Indeed He has done something amazing in our midst (Thank you God!) in 2007 and I'm really excited to see what He's going to do in 2008 =).

As we witnessed God's hand moving in the YM in 2007, let's not be satisfied with that but aspire to seek Him even more and allow Him to work through our lives even more. As some wise men said, since we've been Transformed, now's the time to Transmit what God has placed in us to those around us.

Thanksgiving Multimedia Presentation

Hello!

I've been tasked to come up with a multimedia presentation for the Youth Ministry that will be show-cased during the "main" thanksgiving service (a.k.a where the rest of church shares their various thanksgiving). I humbly appeal to your generous assistance in the areas mentioned below:

1) Anyone want to help produce the main bulk of the video? (So far Alan has graciously offered his Flash Video expertise)

2) Anyone has useful / appropriate / nice videos or pictures that you think should be included in the presentation please make some noise and I will arrange to retrieve the data from you.

3) I may be going around to "interview" some people to add some sound bites to the video so please be sporting. I would be asking questions like "What do you like about the Youth", "How has God used this ministry to impact your life" etc. But better still, if you could record your own voice and send over the file I would be ever so grateful =).

Due to popular demand and because we are on fire, there will be a youth service next Saturday, 22nd of December from 1300h to 1500h.

After the service we will all head down to for the Teban Gardens Block Party (which starts at 1600h) together.

So it doesn't matter if you don't know how to get to Commonwealth Secondary School. However, if for some reason you have to go there directly here is a map and some directions.

experience or God's revealed truth?

hello everyone! was led to share my passage for QT tonight, because i think most of us are probably going through some sort of camp withdrawal syndrome haha. the feeling of having to descend from the lofty spiritual heights that we were during camp, and having to deal once more with the mundane.

but here it is! taken from Utmost for His Highest, by Oswald Chambers, Dec 21.

"We have received ... the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God." (1 Corinthians 2:12)
My experience is not what makes redemption real - redemption is reality. Redemption has no real meaning for me until it is worked out through my conscious life. When I am born again, the Spirit of God takes me beyond myself and my experiences, and identifies me with Jesus Christ. If I am left only with my personal experiences, I am left with something not produced by redemption. But experiences produce by redemption prove themselves by leading me beyond myself, to the point of no longer paying any attention to experiences as the basis of reality. Instead, I see that only the reality itself produced the experiences. My experiences are not worth anything unless they keep me at the Source of truth - Jesus Christ.
If you try to hold back the Holy Spirit within you, with the desire of producing more inner spiritual experiences, you will find that He will break the hold and take you again to the historic Christ. Never support an experience which does not have God as its Source and faith in God as its result. If you do, your experience is anti-Christian, no matter what visions or insights you may have had. Is Jesus Christ Lord of your experiences, or do you place your experiences above Him? Is any experience dearer to you than your Lord? You must allow Him to be Lord over you, and pay no attention to any experience over which He is not Lord. Then there will come a time when God will make you impatient with your own experience, and you can truthfully say, "I do not care what I experience - I am sure of Him!"
Be relentless and hard on yourself if you are in the habit of talking about the experiences you have had. Faith based on experience is not faith; faith based on God's revealed truth is the only faith there is.

Thought it was rather cool that Ben chose the song "Fall In This Place". When Yong Quan first posted it on the Music Min blog, I really felt the words of the song were very meaningful and apt especially since the Youth Camp is going to be about Renewing Our Spiritual Passion.

Last week, as Adelyn and I reached a sort of "mental block" after deliberating long and hard over which songs to use for Youth Camp Worship Night, she suddenly suggested this song too. Though the whole while we were trying not to choose songs which haven't been led in Youth before and she did not know YQ had posted this song, we both agreed on this song immediately.

However, we were a bit worried that no one would know the song and I was initially planning to coerce Ben into leading it so as to familiarise the Youth with it. I even told Adelyn to make a request to Ben and when I saw the song list I assumed he had chosen it upon our request. Then after the service as I was talking to Ben, I mentioned,"So you led "Fall In This Place" cause Adelyn and I requested right?". He gave a rather puzzled look and replied,"No", he had chosen it himself. When I heard that, I just felt that God, through these "divine coincidences" was affirming in my heart that our ministry is really hungry "for more and more" of the Holy Spirit. I'm sure He is pleased with that and as we continue to "cry(ing) out", He will meet us where we are and impact our lives for His purposes =).

I don't know about you guys but sometimes when I'm at home, I go search up lyrics and read and think about the song and you'll realize that even when there's no music and we're just using our voices, our praise can be really great too. do we mean what we sing?
when we sing, I won't turn back and go their way, cause I'm running after You are we really willing to put our old self and take up our crosses to follow Him. if we were in Paul's position, would we still praise God. if we were in hard times, would we still submit to Him knowing that He'll provide? the question that may be running in our minds is, "but I'm only a youth! what can I do!" well, God said in Jeremiah 1:7-8: But the Lord said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the Lord.
man, with such assurance from God, we need not be afraid.

we would face persecutions, trials, temptations but its how we face up to it. no one can overcome your giant. we have to put on our own armour and face our giant(s). we're a ministry and being in the same ministry, we have brothers and sisters in Christ willing to listen and pray for us and with us. (amazing how God puts these people there :D)

Isaiah 29:13 “The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.”

Worship of God pertains to the whole spectrum of living our lives but for the sake of brevity I shall focus on the corporate worship sessions at church. I am the sort of person who believes (and still striving to be such a person) that when we worship, we should put all formalities and opinions of others around us aside; let’s lift our voices, dance, raise our hands, kneel, cry… whatever God inspires us to do as we use all of our heart, body soul and mind to reach out to Him.

My initial mindset usually relates “rules taught by men” as those sort worship sessions where some people feels it’s their obligation to give the very solemn (sometimes pained and glum) look, remain very still as if they were part of a marching contingent, etc. Just to clarify, I am not trying to criticize such worships; I truly believe that God looks at the heart above all.

But on the flip-side, could our “rules taught by men” now be the raising of hands, jumping etc.? Do we think to ourselves, “Oh the music is starting to build up; time to start raising hands” or “This is the sort of song where everyone jumps so I ought to join in”? Our outwardly exuberant appearances and postures of worship are of no significance if our “hearts are far from” God.

Moreover, this more visible expression of worship could be a greater stumbling block to others. Imagine if others see us worshipping God with all these outward expressions but do not see the change in our hearts when we leave the worship hall. I am sure that would cause a lot of doubts to fill their minds vis-à-vis our reasons for worshipping in such a manner.

In a rather crude way of putting it across, I sometimes would rather people look as if they were mannequins if their attitudes for worshipping were wrong and if they do not let their experience with God transform their lives lest outsides conclude that God was not working through the lives of others who were worshipping God with all their might.

This being said, I also hope the contrary does not happen where people think, “My life is such a mess, I am not worthy to give my all in worship to God today or else others may think I am a hypocrite.” Do not be discouraged if you do not find yourself turning into a saint after the worship session. Instead, having examined our hearts, let us endeavor to give everything we have to Him in worship despite how distant we may seem from God. Allow the Holy Spirit to convict and empower us to change our lives. I believe that there will definitely be a change in one’s life if we continually do so, if not, let’s re-examine our lives.

Just as we worship in song with all our might, live the life He wants us to live with all our might.

Hi,

Haven't had much time to blog this week and I guess this probably comes in a little too late. As I'll be leading worship this Saturday I just wanted to share a few things on the "newer songs" in as few words as possible lest I get dreary like now.

Song: Break Free
Reason: It does not matter where we may be spiritually, we can always return to Him / offer Him so much more because God's love (that caused Him to give His one and only son) is never ending, so let's respond to that! As we rededicate ourselves to Him, He gives us joy (hence so much dancing) and the power to break free from whatever is holding us back from obeying Him more.

Song: Your Unfailing Love
Reason: Sometimes though we tell God we want Him maginified in our lives, we let darkness fill our senses and our memories take the place where Jesus ought to belong. In such a state, way back in our minds we know that we need more of God but we unable to translate that into a conviction from the heart. In order to really break free from this we need to lay down our pride and allow Him to search us again; return to His unfailing love.

Song: None But Jesus
Reason: We may be in a state of confusion as to why certain things are happening. Let's cut out all distractions, focussing on God in the quiet and stillness, tell Him from within that there is no one else for me, none but Jesus.

Song: You Are My Strength
Reason: As the songs above have called us to believe that God can help us break free, regain a fresh sense of His unfailing love and to rededicate ourselves to Him as we declare that there is none but Jesus, let's affirm that He is our strength, hope and that He lifts us up.

These songs merely help facilitate a time worship but it's up to YOU whether you allow God to minister to you. CHOOSE TO WORSHIP EVERYDAY, DON'T BE A SPECTATOR.

Hi,

It's been a while since I've come up with something new to put on the blog. Far-fetched as it might sound, though I have officially ORDed, this week and the days ahead really seem quite busy. But yep, that's good because with this proper stuff to do and wanting to spend my time more fruitfully, it's helped me regain my focus on God. The whole of last week was more or less spent slacking and unfortunately many times I chose to put other earthly things (e.g. playing games, sleeping, watching vidoes etc.) before seeking God and ministering to others which I had originally planned to do.

Not sure if anyone can identify with me since some of you are having your holidays too. But yah, God gave me a timely wake up call when I was reading from Isaiah Chapters 10 to 22. It kept talking about how God was going to punish all the wicked nations (rather gruesome and scary stuff). As I reflected on this, I felt that God was warning me of the wrath that awaits those who choose to turn away from Him. For a while there was that sense of fear. But I He assured me as I remembered what Woon Chong said about the old covenant being the new covenant concealed. The fact is that God paid the ultimate price to shield us from His wrath by pouring it all out on His son Jesus. That cruel crucification and the curse of death which we were meant to suffer was broken as amazing love and grace flowed down nail pierced hands and feet of our Saviour King.

Looking at how things have changed so much since the old testament days and the freedom we now have in Jesus, I was really just so thankful and humbled that God, despite having every right to punish me severely, would provide such scum like me a way into His arms and call me His own despite the many times I have shelved Him into a corner.

I don't want to be fooled into thinking that I can live this life on my own now that many stresses have been removed. Instead, I want to make Him my sole desire at all times in both tough and good times. I don't want to forget the many times He has helped me through the stroms. Instead I want to see Him continue His mighty work in ever increasing magnitude in my life and other's.

So yep, for those of you who find yourselves with more free time on your hands now, I challenge you not to just remember God, put let's strive to make Him an even bigger part in our lives now (e.g Spending more time with Him, pray more (prayer meetings at level 4, 3p.m, Sat) reading Christian books, finding areas where we can serve Him, reaching out to others etc.). Especially now as we sense God working something mighty in the YM (there are just so many exciting things happening, gosh!), let's really reallly not be complacent but press on even harder, with greater intensity and passion. There's still so much more God can and wants to do with us so let's prepare ourselves for it and usher in His Spirit to continue it's work.

hello everyone!

would just like to share some of my thoughts from Matthew 4:4

"Jesus answered, 'It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

personally, i've been thinking about the issue of God's Word recently, and these are some things that i've been learning from God.

firstly, it is not enough to "live on bread alone". the thing that i'd like us all to pray about is what is the "bread" in our lives? for the israelites then, "bread" was equivalent to the Law. basically, i think that "bread" is what keeps us feeling comfortable, what satisfies us just enough so that we don't yearn to seek for more of God. i'm not sure if any of you guys have felt this before, but sometimes for me after a really great worship session, i reach home and feel self-satisfied. like, "oh God i've worshipped You so much today, let me just read my Bible quickly and move on to other things. i know You'll still speak to me anyway." but is this the right attitude to have? worship CANNOT replace the importance of soaking in God's Word. because the Word is Life, it's Truth, and it's also the Sword of the Spirit. (Ephesians 6:17 - can't remember the references of the first 2 attributes)

and here's where i turn to my dad as an example. he has always been telling me that i should learn to appreciate the Word more, and to study it more thoroughly. and naturally, i've never really paid attention to what he said. however, recently i've discovered this new method that has really helped me to enjoy God's Word more, and i thought i'd share it here.

(just a disclaimer: this is what works for me. there're many other Bible study methods out there so go check them out and see what's best for you.)

basically, i take a verse, e.g. John 3:16, and write down "Observations", "Interpretations" and "Applications". so, for the verse above,

Observation - "For God so loved the world
Interpretation - God's love is for everyone! Universal, regardless of race, background or nationality.
Application - Check myself: who do i tend to not approach when i'm doing streetE? (street evangelism) ask God to forgive me for bias hidden in my heart. repent and remember to love EVERYONE, just like Christ did.

so yes this is a very simple exercise that has worked for me :)

i know this post is really long and maybe it doesn't suit the short attention spans of people out there, so here're some questions to sum up the entire post.

1) Do you LOVE God's Word? Why or why not? If not, pray for a heart that yearns for His Word. (Psalm 63:1)

2) Pray for God to make His Word come ALIVE! for you, every single day.

Thanks to everyone who made it so enjoyable and especially the many of you who took the initiative to help out so willingly!!! And of course thanks God for giving us such wonderful weather! I think Darf will be coming up with the WCP photos and other stuff soon so I shall leave it to him to help us recollect the time we had.

Heya,

Just a reminder that it is only 3 more days to WCP! It's going to be a fun time of captains ball, soccer, frisbee, Whacko (if some of you whackos really must have it), nail painting (that's if anyone brings their gear) and eye-brow plucking (I can contribute a tweezer =p)...

However there are a few possible impediments which I hope you guys can help pray about and act on if possible:

1) It's been raining/overcast sky the past 3 days so do pray that the weather will be fine because I have no idea what possible wet-weather programme I can execute if it rains (anyone want to suggest? doesn't help that the church will be fully booked for kindy).

2) Do invite the BB boys and pray that they come down cause it would be one of the few opportunities we would get to interact with them and invite them down for the camp.

3) That we will all be good and enthusiatic hosts. Let's create a welcoming and warm atmosphere for everyone who comes, not just for the BB boys but for other youths as well. There's only so much we can do activities-wise, but more importantly we should try to make everyone feel a sense of belonging and identification with other happening youths (such as yourselves) because that's one thing that makes them want to keep coming (to the YM) and hang out with us. So break out of those comfort zones and interact with others please!

Besides those few things that we can all do, I realize I need to get some people to help me out with various roles such as:

1) Advance party at WCP
2) Convoy leader stationed at PPH
3) Bring equipment (balls, frisbees)
4) Activity facillitators
5) Publicity for Youth Camp (I am still clueless as to what I can do at WCP!?!)

Will probably be calling or smsing some of you people (unless anyone graciously volunteers =D) after you've finished school today to help out so please do lend a helping hand =).

I Wouldn't Change A Thing

hello!

i'm emailing you because i want to share this video that i watched recently, and just some thoughts that came out of it. i don't know how to post this on the raft blog so hope you could help me do it :)

This video is basically in remembrance of Dr Bill Bright, the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, and I think he wrote this song. I was deeply moved when I watched this because it reminded me of Paul's words in 2 Timothy 4:6. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." We always see this verse on obituaries and tombstones, but what does it actually mean to "fight the good fight"? Personally, I think Dr Bill Bright is a fantastic example of someone who has lived in our times, who has gone through the challenges of this day, and yet has still managed to keep his passion for God.

Several questions came to mind when watching this video.

1) Do i truly believe that we "wouldn't change a thing"? For me, sometimes i question God's understanding of my life and whether He really knows what's best. Yet here is a guy who boldly claims that every step he has walked with Jesus has been the BEST thing he could ever do. I really cannot imagine how much faith is needed to claim these words, to really follow God every step, every moment of the day, and this has made me reconsider how I make decisions in my own life. Do I walk in step with God, or do I run ahead of Him, claiming that i know best?

2) "For I've been truly blessed". Do we believe that following Jesus is a blessed path? I think that we often only remember the sacrifices that have to be made in the Christian life, yet God has also promised us so many blessings. Blessings of peace, of joy, of love, of hope... the list runs on. Do we know how to claim these blessings? Do we even believe that these exist? The challenge lies in acknowledging that the Christian life will not be a bed of roses, but it can still be JOYFUL, if we are continually drinking from God's strength.

Let's pray for ourselves that in 50 years' time, we will all still be on fire for Him, and passionately still in love with our God. :)

Hey guys!
Today's youth service is totally awesome, during the alter call after the message etc. To God be the praise!!!
But what Pastor shared today about the Eagle and the Turkey attitude is pretty illuminating in that sense... I mean, God got for us a purpose that we need to fulfill and He kinda leaves us as we are to find it(the purpose) out and work it out via reading His word, praying etc. So, we need to show to the world that Christ lives in us and that He is the living God amen? In Acts 13:47...

For this is what the Lord has commanded us:"I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth"

I mean, who does not want their buddies to be saved? You do not want to see them in hell during the End Days right?(I hope... xP)
Yeah, so i suppose we need to mull Pastor's message points over and think through it. Sounds pretty important to me...

ok lar... come to think about it, i'll summarise some prayer requests.

1. Pray for Pastor Adrian and Priscilla. Must keep praying for them! (what's the latest update?)
2. Pray for the WCP outing, for a strong attendance and pray that the BB boys will be more... "open" to us in that sense.
3. Pray for the Transformers Camp '07, pray for the commitee as well.
4. Pray for a revival in the Youth Service (as seen in last week's Prayer meeting) and pray that God's revival fire fall on everybody in the congregation.
And your own prayer requests as well...

hi everyone! i just figured out how to get this blogger thing working :P anyway, same experience as josh here... i was quite stoned today after sleeping late last night (i still have exams lah haha) but when i got here and saw the whole tagboard bursting with all the testimonies and stuff i just had to type something because i'm so amazed and encouraged at all that God is doing. i don't know... when i think about how God's been doing GREATER and GREATER things each youth service, i really get the sense that we're on the brink of something truly amazing :D remember the verse josh (i think) quoted some time ago?

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

yeahhh let's remember to keep praying. for each other, for the ministry, for pastor adrian and priscilla and everything else! let's not stop posting prayer requests for friends and all that here so we can all pray for each other! i'll certainly be praying for whatever i see here :) not just that, but let's all remember to do QT and to wait upon God ("seek my face"), and to honestly come before God and confess our sins and decide we want to live in purity ("turn from their wicked ways") . that's when God'll come and bring REVIVAL into our own lives and into this ministry. I really do think He's doing just that! the more i think about it, the more i realise that this whole thing is so cool, so amazing, so impossible that ONLY GOD CAN DO IT.

So i'll pray to You :)

Wow...

I was feeling like a zombie coming to work due to a lack of alot of sleep. But when I saw the tag board it was like a rush of adrenaline seeing you young people make the effort to invite your friends down =). And I'm really excited about the Pr6s response to the camp. When Jess did her thing and screened the video during Kool Club, the Pr6s and some non Pr6s were screaming to go =p.

But as we continue to do so let's not depend on our own wisdom or feel disheartened if our friends don't seem to be responding at first. Instead let's strive to emulate christ-likeness wherever we are, call upon His name and believe that our God is able to do so much more than we can imagine cause His name is higher than anything else as we sung on saturday (haha, my guitar string snapped during the 1st song but it don't matter cause God was in the house! can't wait for Sat =D):

Hi once again!

God is moving

Wow... it's about 8 hours after Youth Service today but I still feel so excited seeing how God is working in the YM! Just some of the few cool things happening like:

a) Awesome worship (as aptly tagged by Darf)

b) Auntie Mee Huan's class (2 new comers came right? Angeline and Shanice if I am not wrong - must say,"hi" to them next time)

c) Our youth maturing and serving Him in so many areas

d) Half/More than half the Youth responding to the alter call and kneeling before our God (what an amazing sight!!! felt so impacted by that...)

e) Packing the Youth Room during prayer meeting at 3p.m today (God really listens and works mightly when we pray so let's keep it up!!!)

There's other stuff but gosh... God is really amazing (can I get a big "AMEN!"?) but let's not grow complacent but really strive on to chase after Him!!! ok, sorry I got carried away with the stuff above but really... WOW!

Hi everyone,

Gosh, still up at this hour because I was obssessing over the new publicity stunts for Youth Camp / West Coast Park this coming weekend (Apparently someone said the videos were lame (albeit funny) so I tried to make something a little more slick this time round =p).

Ok, back to the point. Just want to encourage everyone to continue praying for Priscilla (I must admit at times it slips my mind). Let's remember to synchronize our prayers together as a ministry at 9p.m as Vincent said during last week's service. More prayer more power!!!

Hi guys,

Know it has been a long time since I've posted anything for 2 reasons:

1) Was really busy at work & driving (which I passed really due to God's grace =D)
2) Got quite disheartened that despite putting in effort to update the blog no one seemed to bother except the precious few of you (thanks!)

But yep, I have decided to get back working on it because I feel that this blog can still be a platform for informing the Youths on ongoing stuff, allow them to share stuff (Darf's music lessons), encourage one another (Alan's video from Godtube), prayer pointers (e.g. Youth camp which Joel put up), introduce their friends to what we do at the YM (Jess' Rev Maam update & Tianyi's WCP photos)etc.

Hope to come up with some other publicity stunt for the WCP outing with the BB boys & blog this coming Saturday... if I have the time to think of any ideas cause still trying to figure out what to do for camp publicity too (for the Pr 6s!!! =p). Anyone out there who's done with their exams and has any ideas or wants to help please sound out!!! Especially those helping out in Kool Club)

The nurses and doctors consider the fact that Priscilla has recovered completely from the infection in the brain a miracle because she is the first patient they have ever seen to survive such an infection in the history of the hospital, Singapore, maybe the world!

How Great is Our God!

Her fair color is returning, along with some involuntary movements as she did before the infection. Continue to pray that she will open her eyes and that the tracheostomy tube can be removed.

Today Priscilla managed to tolerate her first 15 minutes of breathing from her nose/mouth with the trachy closed.

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I last posted something cause I was rather dry and sian last week during the weekdays. But yah, God's really been faithful and amazing the past few days as I've continued to press on. But yah, won't bore you guys with my sharing =p.

Anyway, not sure whether you guys are keen to check out the publicity we had the previous week for youth camp. Lots of nice memories came back looking at the photos and videos and I really encourage everyone to come down. I'm not being biased towards this particular camp or anything but I really feel that this camp is going to be extra super!

YM + BB Activity

Hi once again!

Really hope I will be able to get some positive inputs from you guys cause I think it's about time we tried to organise a joint YM + BB activity. Though I've been alienated from the school calendar for a while, I can't believe I've let the 1 week school holiday go to waste without organizing something fun to do =(.

Anyway, as stated above, it's been a really long time since we've met the young people at BB and it's really such a waste if we let the friendships built during Batam just fade away. Problem is I really don't know we can do that would draw both the youths from BB and our YM. It's a shame that the BB guys didn't turn up in full force for the West Coast outing. Really think they would have come but there wasn't enough publicity over at their side.

Just like the last time I was in the Youth Room with a bunch of youths and they spontaneously organized and executed the West Coast outing, I hope you guys will continue to be proactive and take ownership of the YM =). Let's make our YM cool and fun!

So yep, if you have any suggestions please do raise them! And if you wanna help out or want to volunteer a friend to help out please do likewise!

Hope you all had a super time at Youth on Saturday. Rev Mam's testimony was really awesome stuff. Really don't know of anyone with such a positive outlook on life inspite of that much suffering. And it's not like he has some screws lose between his years, the guy is really smart and educated. The power of God, gosh... amazing stuff. I salute this man and what God's done with his life with both hands! Let's aspire to make ourselves so much smaller and God so much bigger in our lives too =)!

ok... i'm the old man here so i have to be SERIOUS... yes... the rarely-sighted near-extinct serious-olouphous joel-ousphicous... haha...

basically.. the reason i'm posting is coz i volunteered to be Prayer I/C for the Youth Camp Planning Comm... so yepps... this is the easiest way to get people to see the prayer requests... so i shall post updates / prayer requests here periodically to ask you guys to pray for the Youth Camp...

so firstly... an update...

what we've done so far:

1) nothing
2) nothing
3) and also... yes... nothing...

haha... ok seriously... we've done..

absolutely nothing...

okok... there's a new Youth Camp Planning Committee put together just for the purpose of planning this Dec's Youth Camp... and the chair is.... lintong lintong...! that's just one person actually.... but the person is so egotistical that she needs to see her name twice... haha...

the rest of us unimportant peons are: josh, juliana, minjia, zestin, megan, jingming, ryan sim & myself...

so all we've done so far is get the team together... meet once to lay out our thoughts... and... nothing... yepp... we're just a big ol' bunch of slackers... haha... i think we'll be meeting some time next week... yepp... i'll update as we go along...

so yes... prayer requests....

1) pray for the camp as a whole... pray for a theme and a vision... pray that God will work in this camp... and use every single camper to make the camp great...

2) pray for the committee... coz majority of the comm have never done planning for camps before... pray for fresh ideas and to be a passionate example...

3) pray for a campsite... it's very late to be looking for a campsite... and because it's in dec... everything seems very... unavailable or expensive... pray that God will provide a suitable campsite in terms of facilities and accommodation...

Movie Screening
An update on the tentative movie screening, have talked with pastor the other day and he is fine with it. So the main thing we got to do is to secure the premises because some Alpha activities would still be going on. Auntie Mary made a cool suggestion to hold it at the basement by opening up either the Peranakan assembly or Angora Youth Room so we still can sorta have a *** Movie Under The Stars *** sort of thing. Will tried to finalize this this coming saturday with Auntie Pek Choo. So tentative details are:

Location : PPH Basement
Time : After Youth Service
Cost : Free
Movie : The Incredibles (Anyone got the DVD)
Post-movie oration : Benjamin Hooi (a.k.a Amazing man (all the Hoois are amazing lah!)

Festival Of Praise
Not sure whether you guys know but this coming week is FOP! Think it's Delirious? and Don Moen coming down to Singapore Indoor Stadium (SIS) to lead-worship. Haven't either live but I'm sure if we go with the right hearts it's gonna be a great time worship our God as a body alongside other believers. If you've never gone down for this sorta thing please do!

Was telling Janahan (and I think Darf & The Amazing Ben when we went to look at guits) not too long ago how a worship session at SonicFest way along ago ministered to me though the style of worship was really alien to me and I felt a bit awkward at first back then. But seeing other youths (and even old foggies) really feverently worship God without inhibition spurred me to search my own heart. And the rest was just a really initmate time with God and as they say history =) (though some may dispute not history cause it's still impacting me). I could give many other examples of such times but you've gotta experience it for urself people!

So rumour has it that some of youths wanna go down this coming saturday after Youth. Pastor was saying that he would try to keep his sermon short so whatcha waiting for! Let's go down to SIS after Youth together!

Hey peeps,

Another week has come to pass once again and I feel I haven't posted anything for a while so I feel a slight itch to do so (please bear with me).

Just want to reiterate the fact that Youth service was super cool last saturday and I think that God is really doing something marvellous amongst this ministry steadily and surely. I also want to encourage everyone (including myself) to press on. It was really cool listening to the testimonies and stuff but I can't wait for the day when the same thing happens amongst our own youths. So let's continue to be obedient to God in the little things like asking our friends down to church (think of the Cornerstone youth who brought his 1st frd down to church), talking to others whom we may be different from us (think of the senior pastor talking to the then Ah Beng Andrew) and just doing whatever God wants us to do passionately and boldly (think the stuttering boy who read off a paper and brought someone to Christ). It really amazing what God can do huh?

Anyway, besides that, think the blog is sorta losing a bit of steam so i prolly think we oughta do some sorta publicity stunt and perhaps print it in the bulletin this coming saturday to remind everyone (of courcse who ever you see online. I am blatantly publicizing it as my MSN nick already =p). It would be good seeing new blood posting words of edification and insights into God to encourage all of us and anyone who visits this blog.

ok... so serious stuff aside, let continue to aim for that movie screening... hmmm... lets say the following week =)? hopefully can come up with some publicity for it this saturday too and as Joel brilliantly suggested, perhaps we could screen it at level 1... think it'll be really nice with some munchies and stuff =)... and my sis came up with a another super suggestion for a movie... "The Incredibles"! Think it was a super movie with some pretty good lessons to learn bout family and accepting others (no discrimination!) what say you?

EDIT: Josh. Clearly you have been praying. As you can see the blog has been widened a tad. I also realized that the tag board was not utilizing as much space of the sidebar as it could, and thus I was able to widen it without facing the necessity to widen the sidebar. Not sure if these changes (tag board width and main section width) are sufficient for you but I seriously think its going to be fairly challenging to post pictures side by side without undermining the aesthetics of the blog. I also find it hardly essential.

The admin believes that Josh is a noobster because he first asks the admin to reduce the size of the sidebar and then now he want a bigger tagboard. The admin suggests that Josh should really pray because with the admin this is impossible but with God all things are possible.

The admin also believes that a certain Juliana Tan has a poor sense of direction because clearly the link to her blog is below the tagboard and not above it like she implies when she says "why is my blog link up there!" So the blog is finally up and I hope it will be a useful means for us to interact, continue to be updated on things happening in our ministry and importantly a medium for us to share bout how God's been working in our lives and also a means for us to encourage and build one another up.... and oh yah... not forgetting... for us to carry on having Random and Fun things =p...

Well, for starters, i hope to get ur feedback on what would you like to see in this blog and any improvements that can be added... so please add your comments under this post =).... and of course if you wanna say anything else under the comments please feel free to do so...
